How do you make Master happy?

This could be a question for either Master or Pet I suppose, but asking the kitties out there, how do you help you master feel better and loved when he or she is not so happy?

a sweet nuzzle on the shoulder always makes me feel a bit more cat-like, and hopefully reminds him that he's loved.

I jump up in his lap and purr, so he remembers that I love him, and he has an amazing kitten who will always be there for him.

When I'm hundreds of miles away from him, as I often am because of his work, I call him up and say cute things, or just act extremely cute kitten-like, and it usually can get a smile out of him.

new relationship so still working things out, I usually nuzzle master (female) when she is unhappy while expressing what makes her great. Master (male) has yet to seem that down when around me. I'm also domestically inclined so they enjoy very much the chores they can leave for me =p.

I almost never get to cheer up Master because he's never home :<  When he is in a bad mood though, he usually just goes out with his friends.

If Master is upset then kitty usually just curls at his feet. This way he knows I'm there, but I'm not demanding attention. Sometimes he'll reach down and pet me, sometimes he'll have me get into his lap, and other times he just wants to be alone (but I think he enjoys knowing that I'm there).
Other than that, I know how to give good ear. (that's right!!)
I listen without offering advice. This usually involves asking questions (FEW questions, not a barrage) to help him think about certain things. Leads him to his own answer as opposed to me giving him an answer.
