No hot dogs for me this year...well maybe one, or two...but that's my limit.
They go pretty well with fireworks, cold beer, chips and all the rest.

Moderation in (almost) all things, that's my motto for this year.

I will probably spend most of the day keeping Bad Dog the cat off the curtains.

Doing the barbecue thing, followed by drinking while we wait for the fireworks. Beer good, fire pretty, etc.

Went to a parade this morning, waiting til dark to set off fireworks in the driveway. That should be fun! :) No hot dogs for me...maybe some chips and shrimp dip though, I think some Nascar race is on today, and usually chips and dip are made on those days.

Ok now that the fun festivities are done, let's do a quick check. Everybody still have all their thumbs from setting off fireworks? You should have 2.

Kitties don't have thumbs to count.

It's a great mystery, when a kitty turns into a girl or boy (I know, it sometimes happens) where that thumb comes from.

But kitties shouldn't be playing with fireworks anyway. They get their tails singed way too easily

*runs off and gets into a variety of mischief that can only be accomplished with the use of opposable thumbs and, when her mischief is discovered, plays totally innocent because she couldn't POSSIBLY have done it, since she has no thumbs!*

Not totally true. Polydactyl/hemmingway cats have extra toes which act and look like thumbs.
