What's the deal with fetish clubs?

I used to work on the door of a fetish club.

There was no pressure whatsoever, beyond a loose dress code (ie, no jeans, trainers, etc)

People had their fun (I saw lots of whipping and people walking around stark naked) but there was also music to dance to and a bar. I guess it was a tad surreal, but I really enjoyed myself.

If you're ever out this way (PNW), I'll be glad to take you to a very mellow scene. And totally accepting of every "normal" kink.

While boys/men are discouraged from enter solo, I wouldn't go alone as a kitty though. But on a leash, you could have lots of fun. We'd probably have to sneak your own sushi in for you, but getting your drinks served in a bowl on the floor kind of sets the kitty apart from the crowd. But watch your tail!

Heh. Waaaaaaaaay on the other side of the continent. Though I know a bit about the Seattle scene because there seem to be so many blogs being written from there.

I have a few kinky friends, but just nobody who seems to be in to the whole fetish club scene. But then, I haven't heard terribly great things about our scene anyway.

I'm also timid of joining fetish groups, any group I have ever attempted to join has scared me half to death. Though I will feel more comfortable naked.
