Aforementioned author here. *waves at Sab again* I'm flattered that my story is being mentioned, although the person doing the mentioning might have a little bias. ;) Anywho, I thought I'd chime in with my thoughts about kitten fiction.

I have yet to see more than two stories (which I'm trying to find links to) that handle kitties without being in a situation that's just illogical or unsafe. Some of it is cute, but it's not the right kind of cute. "Oh my god I've been brainwashed and undergone surgery all I can do now is meow" is not cute. :P It doesn't do it for me either, well not in the same way. (I'm a perv, meh) Kittenplay (in what most of us seem to be looking for anyway) should be about the joy of letting out the inner kitten, not doing something humiliating because some Dom wants to put you in your place (which is not to say I may not write something along those lines at some point). Pony-, Puppy-, Pig-, and Cow-play have enough of that, thank you.

So I wrote this little thing as something for the rest of us. Something for the kitties among us who just like being a kitty, don't feel humiliated by it, just... happy. Content. Perhaps lesser than our Doms/Owners/etc. and others, but still happy. And, honestly, I wrote a lot of it for Sab. Not as some kind of love letter or anything melodramatic, she has a Sir and they love each other very much. No, I wrote it because it's sometimes hard for me to properly explain to anyone else how being a kitty makes me feel, and even though partially it was because I had a cute plot in my head that needed to get out, what I needed to get out even more was the sense of kittenplay that I hold very dear. I'll admit I drew some on the relationship Sab and her Sir have ('cause they're f%$#ing cute), but so much of it is what I feel when I'm being all kitten-ey. Based on her reaction after she read it, I'm pleased to know I'm not the only person who feels those things.

Wow, I'm deep or something. :P

Anyway, I'm interested to see if anybody else has come across decent kittenplay fiction, because I sure as hell haven't. I'm still going to write more regardless, but I'd like to see if there's something I've been missing. ^_^

Meh, so I'm biased. Either way, it's a good read and I absolutely love it. I certainly hope others who read it will agree! I definitely can't wait to read what other things you might come up with. Though I'm still jealous you finished a story before I did! Never mind that yours is a short story and I still have five hundred pages to write =^.^=
Incentive to just keep writing I suppose! *Grins*

i AM writing a story, but it's not a kitten story :P

it's the backstory, world, characters, storyline and quests for the game i am working on :P

I finished reading it yesterday, and I'm still thinking about it. Amazing stuff, really. The characters were very interesting. I love the little interactions with others you included. A lot of stories like this enjoy getting straight to the point, which I think is a fault. The writing was disjointed at certain points which I also liked. Hmm...what else? The length was good, it didn't overstay it's welcome. Although, to be honest, a sequel would be well received (at least by me). And the ending was genuinely sweet.

I also had my kitten read it, she had the same feelings (although without such analytical precision). And now she wants to try bits of the things in the story. Specifically the arm binding, something I was never really in to, but I like the way it was used in your story...which is prompting me to try it out on her. Thanks! biggrin

I feel like I've been ****ing lazy in not reading the finished story all the way through yet, I need to do this tonight.

With that being said, from what I've read so far, this story is the closest representation of what kittenplay is in my head. The criticisms of other stories have already been said, but I'll say again that more stories similar to this need to be written or found.

Absolutely loved it. It's really hard to find good bdsm erotic fiction out there that isn't just pound pound pound pound, but has an inventive plot (rather than horny woman seeks strong male, and some bondage occurs). Want more please!
