The move "The pet"

So it's one of the few BDSM pet play movies i've seen, and sadly I was incredibly disappointed with the ending!
Who else has seen this Movie, and what did you think?

I think there's a thread about the Pet in the media section. It sounded interesting...is it worth renting/buying?

I sas a small part of it, but it did not really lived up to my expectations. For a movie I would have expected a little more 'action'

I posted about this movie before and recommend that people watch it.

Having not viewed it in a few years I decided to go rewatch it, at which time I realized I had forgotten what a horrible ending it has and updated my post to warn others.

The parts I do like are:

1. The building of the relationship between the future pet and her future owner.
2. The transition from human-relationship to pet-relationship.
3. The happiness that the human and pet bring to each other.
4. For a soft-porn movie it was surprisingly well done. Not a Hollywood blockbuster, but had decent acting with an actual script.

The parts I don't like are:
1. The ending (I won't go into it, even though its bad I don't want to spoil it for anyone)
2. The cage the pet was kept in was much too small for a human and looked painful to sleep in.
3. The fact that the girl was treated 100% as an animal. She did not talk, or sleep with her master. I prefer a pet I can chat with and use for carnal needs.

Two scenes from the movie that I recall liking are:
1. In the restaurant when the girl sits on floor beside the man as he feeds her some desert. I thought that was rather touching.
2. One of the scenes when she is being taking for a walk on her leash around her owners back yard.

I saw commercials. The movie really freaked me out. Ironically, it was also got me interested in the idea of petplay.

Yeah, I know someone who watched it right after they were involved with a thread on the Ghastly's Ghastly Comic messageboard containing a rant about porn-plots that end up with "... a secret underground organization of slavers who, despite having enough money and resources that they could probably grow their own slaves if they wanted, still occasionally buy a college student from a pack of thugs" or something like that.

It was a small pub-type restaurant and she was cloathed. No one seemed to care.

I wish they would have done this movie along the same lines as "The Secratary"

That was a good movie about bdsm relationship without having some wierd sub-storie that ruined the movie.

In "The Pet" the "slaver" sub-storie could have been left out and the movie would have been just fine. The sub-storie took away from the movie rather then adding to it.

Ah. I was imagining a fine French, Michelin-starred restaurant or something.

Yeah, though these are both movies I havn't seen but have seen plot outlines on the internet. "The Secratary" sounds like a good BDSM movie, where "The Pet" looks more like the plot to a bad porn novel from the 1950's. I'd like to see the thought process behind this movie, because I can't help but thinking that it was something good, but some demigouge producer ruined it with the slavery subplot for commercial reasons. That or the guy who came up with this did absolutly no research.

The two stories, the pet/human relationship and the slavery issue feel too disjointed to me to have been parts of the same story originally.

My thought was that possibly the person who wanted to create the pet movie gave into out side influences. Maybe adding the subplot was the only way to get the funding or was the only way to get the movie accepted by a more vanilla audience that would not see the pet/human as something acceptable.
