Is it strange that I'm a vegan kitty? I don't eat fish or milk or eggs, or meat in general. I do very much enjoy my soy milk though! And Master and I make homemade kitty treats for me in the shape of fishies, but are there other kitties like me out there? I always hate feeling left out...
I can't be vegan. My system reacts strangely to soy, I don't really trust it either. Heh. I have a friend who has a vegetarian pit bull, and she is a vegetarian kitty I think. I haven't really pried, but I do suspect that they play a little on the pet side.

Oh, no need to feel left out from anything! All I do kitty-wise is drink milk and eat fish. Lol. And here I thought I was weird for not liking any other kind of seafood! Hehe.

I'll say right off the bat that I eat meat but I think it's awesome that you're a vegankitty! I mean, it is sort of strange to say, "I identify with anima--ooh, look, animal, let me torture it for its flesh!" so I don't think it's inconsistent at all to be a vegan kitty.
Ignoring the cruelty aspect of it, I hate sushi and I have a lot of trouble drinking plain milk (it sort of makes me gag) so...we can be strange kitties together :D I don't see any reason why a cat's favorite food can't be pad thai (in my case) *grins*
You have yet to meet my cat Biscuit. I have to keep him away from my Thai foods. If I do not... I won't have Thai Foods for long.

Of course it isn't bad to be a vegan kitty! Go you!
I'm not vegan, but I've slowly (super slowly) been transitioning to a vegetarian diet. It's hard though, because I am allergic to soy which means that my meat choices are limited a lot more.
Side note: Also, while a lot of people are vegetarian for animal rights reasons, that has nothing to do with why I am transitioning. Animal rights are great, but it isn't the reasoning behind my change. I just don't like meat all that much.

i think it's actually very admirable to be vegan or vegetarian. i can't do it, as much as i would like to; i love meats too much. but it's great! it makes you happy, and it's so much better for you.
so good on ya for it. =)

I support vegetarians and vegans on the point that they support much less of the destructive farming that happens for all of those McBurgers. To get proper nutrition as a vegan or vegetarian though, it takes much more work and time shopping. Thats not even mentioning my preference for the taste of most things meaty.
A good balance of both is what our bodies are made for, but I do understand the vegetarian and vegan preference on -some- points.

Well, it's sad that I'm so far the only veggiekitty that I know, but I'm happy that everyone is so supportive of me! Going out to eat is hard of me though because a lot of places don't have vegetarian options let alone vegan options. When I do go shopping for food, I have to read labels and look out for more common animal ingredients or animal by-products. The same thing goes for normal items like shampoo, tooth paste, so on and so forth, just a lot of items that people wouldn't even think about, I have to check labels. But I'm kind of a confused veganatarian (I made that up, I will explain, hold on), I don't eat meat (obviously), but I do eat cheese, and items with milk in it, but I would never drink a glass/bowl of milk, so I'm strange like that. But I have very valid reasons for the things I do.
Heya =) Vegetarian kitty here =} You're not alone kisa-chan ! ^^ I'm not vegan though... As a real french girl i love cheese and such things, but i only drink rice milk. I also eat organic food as often as i can. Couldn't but register on seeing this topic. I've been following this forum for quite some time now, i'm glad i finally dared to register.
No Kisa, it is not strange that you are a vegetarian. I myself, want to become a pescatarian. Which is a vegetarian that eats fish. Kittys love fish! perfect! :) <3
Is your Master also a vegitarian or vegan? I had an ex- who was vegi, but I refused to switch over and I think that began our eventual breakup. Stupid really, that food would be the cause...especially since everything she ate as her dinner I ate as a side-course. Wasn't like there had to be two completely different things fixed for a meal.
No he isn't. His dad is a meat-cutter, so I get a lot of **** from him. And Master doesn't love me enough to even consider doing it, so I just put up with all of the teasing from him and his dad.
To make you feel even less alone: I'm a vegetarian too :) Not vegan though (don't want to miss my yoghert and cheese and liquorice), but I don't eat meat or fish and try not to use beauty products tested on animals or buy things out of leather (which is quite hard, as someone into bdsm :P)
