M: there are two ways to realy go about it. keep in mind that the right time and place is importen.
1. just come right out and say it. im a blunt sob so this would be the way i would say to do it.
2. ask probing questions. this would be the "nice" way of finding things like this out. tip: ask questions that are as open ended as posable.

My way is sneaky... if you're close buy her a pair of kitty ears for halloween. Tell her how cute she is and how much you'd love a little pet just like her... Hmm Actually I think that's bad advice.

Buying her a pair for Halloween isn't a bad idea. Maybe you could ask her to do a duo costume with you, have her as a kitten and you as like a 1950's "Leave it to beaver" dad image, pipe and sweater vest. Kind of a cat and owner duo and ham it up. Let her know how much fun it is and see if it progresses. Or you could just introduce her to the furry fandom (which would probably the worst decision anyone could ever make) and immerse her into the idea. Just expect every female and unkempt guy to hit on her the entire con.

Hmm....My Owner and I would play this game where we would each ask the other a question, and the person had to respond as truthful as possible, it's a great way to get to know someone. You can start by asking fairly easy questions, then moving on to more personal private stuff, until you get to the famous "what's you're biggest fantasy" line =^.^=
