My Owner will be moving in with me in a little over a week, and I was kind of curious to know if any other kitties live with their Owners. I'm really looking forward to having him here with me and I was wondering if any kitties or Owners have advice to give about living together?

Unfortunately for now we live in different countries.
In October I'll be moving from Italy to California and Master plans to meet/visit me (all the way from NC) some time during the month.
Then we shall take it from there...

I envy you, Saberrah.
I really wish I could already be living with Master

I live with Master. :)  We've been living together for about three years, and we've been seeing each other for over 5.

I'm not really sure what advice I can give you, but I think living together has only enhanced our relationship.  I am very very glad to be with him. <3

Actually, today while I was at work, Sir went around town and filled out applications to find a job so we could move in together as soon as possible! I'm so excited, I've daydreamed about what it'd be like to spend more than two days a week with him and NOT have to leave to come home every Sunday, lol. I hope someone accepts him! ^_^

Aww it makes me smile so much to read how excited you are, kitty! Its also very nice knowing we aren't the only ones moving closer to each other.

I do agree about the annoyances, and I try to be patient and have an open mind for all the speed bumps that life throws at you.

*grins* I've been excited about moving as soon as the idea came up in conversation. I can't wait!

Currently I live a ways from my hunny he lives about an hour and a half away. But come fall semester he'll just be 10 mins away. ^^

The thing is, everyone has things they do that can be annoying or do things you don't like.... part of learning to live with someone is accepting those behaviors and learning to love them because they're something the person you care about does :D. Tim annoyed the crap out of me when I first moved here! But I love him for his annoying habbits.... (like telling me my jokes aren't funny, cursing when he drives, and tickles me)!

LaLa and I are in separate countries too....but at least theres no ocean in-between.
Its still about a two hour flight though, then another hour-long drive.
But at least I got to spend a lot of time with her a couple weeks ago and that made me extremely happy.
We've been talking about places to live, but its a little ways down the road before that becomes a reality.

Okay, for those who are wondering, lots of things has managed to pop up, preventing my Owner from coming up when he was suppose to, but, if all things goes as planned, he shall be here by noon this Monday (tomorrow). I've lived with lots of roomies in the past... So here is my advice:

1. Lay down house rules and expectations IMMEDIATELY and do not budge on them. He may be your master, but he is moving in with YOU! Not vise versa. (For example, don't leave clothes lying around. Clean up after yourself promptly. ect.)

2. Make sure they contribute equally. Or, being that they're your master... Fully even. hehe
But they should contribute to rent and utilities at the very least. If not house maintanance, groceries and chores as well. Remember Pet is not the exact same thing as slave, sometimes the pet maintains a slave station. But that is not what a pet specifically is. Sometimes the pet is even the more dominant of the two.

3. If you have any pet peeves... Refer to rule number 1. A very, very important rule.

4. ENFORCE THE RULES. Do not get slack on them. If you do, they'll mean absolutely nothing later.

5. Do not do the "whats mine is yours." thing right off the bat. You'd be surprised how far some people will take that courtesy. Even people you wouldn't expect it from. Right down to stealing, trashing or selling your possessions.
