I know I've seen it mentioned once since reading through these forums, but I thought it deserved a topic of its own.
My kitty and I have been playing SecondLife (SL) for over a year now, and I think both of us are well qualified to talk about the fun that can be had! Yes, it is a virtual world on the computer that has many different interests, but for us kitty play is the largest part. Its particularly nice if you and your Owner are far apart from eachother, or you don't have the resources to indulge your kitty fantasy!
Its tough to find a place to start, trying to describe just what you can do in SL. I'll try to be brief and descriptive at the same time.
There are as many different kitty items as there are types of stores in SL... you can start your life purely roleplaying, but in my opinion its much more fun if you have some items to help you along the way. These items can be crafted by anybody in SL if you have the patience and skills. People have for sale everything from ears and tails and kitty looking skins to cuffs and collars and poses to make you crawl as much as your kitty heart desires.
Many of the items have various creators and quality levels. Some of them can be found for free, but for a very small investment through paypal or a credit card (maybe $20 or less) you can make your avatar look positively amazing.
I'll share a couple pictures of my kitty all dressed up, and then I'll leave it up for questions since thats probably a better way to continue.
if you call cutting your pay to 249,999 bucks to avoid a tax cut going to galt's gulch, i'll call wearing a che shirt bought from hot topic a violent communist coup
Random bit of info, I made the first pair of kitty ears/tail ever in SL back in June 03 I remember back then how everyone used to comment on how different my avatar was. Since then it spread like wildfire, to the point where I actually have a human avatar rather than a neko one now, just to be different again ;p
I'm glad to hear that, in a couple different threads now, several people do or have played SL!
I think at the very least it would be fun to meet up, or say hi once in a while.

*Giggles at all the pretty pictures her Owner posted of her* Second life is definitely a good way to go about kitty play when distance is an issue. *Grins widely* And luckily, that distance will be vanquished soon! *Pounces around happily*

Hmmm.. yes Secondlife seems to be one of the best options for pets and owners to play together from afar. My avatar has been neko for quite sometime. ;)
The website seems neat, but I'm turned off by the fact you can't pick your last name... hence, I wont be signing up. I have the same username on every site and that isn't going to change.
