Homemade cat bed!
Permalink Closed

I was thinking of making my own cat bed, a simple one, but it would be fun. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas? Anything would be helpful.

I found this site, I think the cushion would make a nice pet bed.

Oh, that would be perfect! So I need peoples opinion. I went to a store today that had large beds for $35. Do you think this is too much? Someone said they found one for twenty.......

Futon mattresses can be made into great cat beds ^-^

This is a bit more of a pricey idea, but you can get a futon mattress and body pillows to line the edges. Have sheets to cover. ^-^ Brand new, a futon mattress can be roughly $50-60. Body pillows are $5.

I was wanting to buy a circle shaped bed to do this with but that costs around $4,000. x.x;

That would be an interesting idea. I have a futon. Unfortunatly, its really big, and kinda moldy i think. I'll probably just get a large dog bed or something.......idk.....im still trying to figure it out. I don't have any money, so that makes it even more difficult.......

When I have the time and money, I plan on getting a big wicker basket bed and then either find a pet bed to fit into it, or make it myself. Definitely want tons of cushy pillows to go with it and fleece blankets. I LOVE fleece blankets. So soft and warm, makes me feel all cozy.
And of course when I have that, it's definitely getting positioned near a fire place. Just seems like a natural spot for it. Hmm...maybe a cute little floor rug for it to sit on or place in front of.... *Giggles* I've definitely thought a lot about my perfect kitty bed.

To check prices go to www.mysimon.com and type "large dog bed" into the search frame.

I wouldnt buy the bed on-line, only check the prices.  I think the shipping on a large dog bed would eat up anything you save by finding one less then $35.

if it weren't for my chronic back pain, i would make one and sleep in it all the time. or at least for my naps.

what i would do is make a short box, just large enough for you to lay comfortably in, and shallow enough that you can get out without hurting yourself, but still be somewhat restrained. line it with something skooshy (carpet scraps, fleece blankets, pillows, etc.) and toss in stuffed animals, blankets, pillows, and whatever you want to snuggle with. i don't think your sir would appreciate being stuffed in a body bag and kept in your kitty bed...
