Crazy Collars

So I've been playing with the idea of getting a prong collar for a while, and finally did last weekend. I tested it out with my friends, and it was...well ..wonderful, but it did leave a small scab from where I got pulled a little too hard.

So have any of you used prong/choke collars before? I think the prongs are a little safer, since, no matter how hard you pull, you dont actually choke at all (I tried >.>; ). Makes kitty behave very quickly...I'll say that much

Sorry if this has been posted before XP I didn't see it anywhere.

Yeah -- my dog has one too (not the same one as mine XP ) it works really well to keep them from pulling the leash or jumping on people.

Choke chains are fun in the right hands, the prong collar looks... Interesting...

You can get little rubber or plastic tips for the end of the prongs so they don't poke as much. :)

Prong collar looks scary. I think I'd prefer a choke collar. Though I guess either would keep me under control quite well.

They're not so scary, just make you react quicker. The choke-chains seem to strangle a bit more, which makes me a bit more wary of them.

@ MastersKitten: Thanks for the advice! I'll look into it.

To try to solve the choke collar pinching problem (after all kitties have much softer necks than dobermans and such!), I made a choke collar that had a metal band at the back of the neck and a sliding leather band laced through it.

Put even pressure on the kitty's neck when she was acting up too much and didn't pinch at all. Worked great.
