What do you do when your Owner is away?

I do homework, but I suppose that's not helpful in the slightest.

To sleep I usually get up a pillow barrier and snuggle with that. Having a pet helps witht hat too I suppose.

Master gives me certain tasks to do than have to be done each day

Although my Master lives a good bit away from me and I only see him once in a while, we try to talk one way or another every day. I also have a tiger from build-a-bear that he got me for when he's not around.

Ha ha, I do homework too, but...yes, not helpful. Something that used to help me was...if I missed my ex, I'd try to do something for her in her absence, like write her a story. Depending on your talents/interests, you could do that, or draw something or knit something or write a song or plan a special event for when he returns, etc.

I usually straighten things up if I can and have the energy to do so, or I'll sit around on the computer or watch TV when I'm feeling retardedly lazy. xD Then again, He's only gone for about six hours on Friday and Saturday nights anymore.

But since Sir is a bartender at a local pub just a few steps from our back door (new apartment, right around the corner from where He works and across the street a bit from where I work. ^^), I've hung out there once while he was working. But I might end up doing chillin' there more... you know... to make sure no one attempts enroaching on my territory... *snicker*

Thanks everyone. :} I took up janet's suggestion and started a sketch for Master, hoping to play around with some acrylics...already transferred the sketch to a canvas.

I'm also alternating between straightening up the apartment, and being on the computer. I am a moderator on a chat site, so that eats up some time. I'm just on it a whole lot more lately, lol.

Oh also, he got his first buck on opening day...a 6 pointer. :}

i sit around play kingdom hearts video games in general talk with friends sleep and cuddle with my pet kitty she loves me and Mistress but hates everyone else that or think of ways to make her happy when i do see her wich dosent take alot from me i guess its easy on my end to make her feel special and happy she thinks im a dork and loves it but mostly i sew things for her alot since that is my biggest hoppy and i have alot of free time on my hands

When I was with my last dom, and he would have to leave or vise versa, I would distract myself by writing, spending too much time on Live journal, or going outside and seeing what havoc I could cause with some friends, kittens are meant to get in trouble after all :). Also I have a ratt old teddy that helped me get through cuddle withdrawl like whoa.

Having been away from my master for nearly a year now, I sympathize, it's simply horrible, I pined away the entire time! :(

I couldn't imagine doing without Master that long.

I think the best thing that a pet can do is find something that they can associate with their owner to comfort them.. Whether it be a plush toy they got (with) you or an old shirt of theirs, something like that can make you feel like you still have a part of them with you.

I'm home alone most days because Master works.
I feel fulfilled by tending the house and cats in his absence.

He leaves me free reign in the house so I can do much what I want, as long as I don't make it too girlie.
I've decorated the house for the Holidays and artfully scattered my belongings throughout the house so what was once a sterile bachelor's place is now a warm Home.
I know Master really likes it because he compliments me at least once a day, lovingly stating he loves coming home to me.
When I told him I'm enjoying playing "house wife" he murmured something about getting practice for the Future.

Anyway I always seem to find something to do to keep me busy during the day and living in his home and playing with the kitties prevents me from feeling too lonely.

hmmz, i wonder if i should enter this one as a owner/master?

in any case: considering i work every day, and have a "side-job" with a co-worker (i'm a webdeveloper, and we are setting up our own partnership) it keeps me body a better part of every weekday and most weekends.

during that time i give my pet orders (like cleaning the house, shopping, showering, etc...) that i expect her to do that day. other then that she is free to do as she wishes as long as i know about it (i expect her to ask before going out for the evening, etc...)

and she is free to decorate, remodel and do whatever she wishes with the house with a few exceptions (one being my "pc corner" :P)

Master and I don't live together so I only have "limited" time I guess I would say, with him, and I have abandonment issues and are very depressed, so Master gave me a sweatshirt of his to wear when I sleep at night. Its more of a security blankie for me and I don't know what I would do if I lost it or didn't sleep with it. But I think it is important to have something that connects a Master and his kitty. It really means a lot.

Hmm, Oppa is away as we speak. He has been gone for a month and a half and has about a half month to a full month before he returns... :(

Usually, when Oppa leaves for a long trip... He gets me something to entertain myself with.

For example... One time he bought me a new vibrator before he left. One time he bought me FFXII for my birthday before he left.

And this time he had cable hooked up and bought me a new phone and ipod for Christmas.
I also have the vehicle to myself now. And I get a small bi-monthly allowance. (and when the allowance isn't enough, I can always ask to spend more.) And we went and picked up a free treadmill off craigslist for myself and the pup since it is so rainy here right now.

I try to stay busy by working on my pup's (Canine, not human) training. Handling the finances and budget. And tidying up or redecorating the house. Or making "wishlists" online. Trying new recipes and such. Shopping and going out with friends. And handling any errands, such as taking the pup to the vet today (she has gotten sick, I'm worried that she may have gotten Giardiaisis due to all this rain and the coyotes coming into our yard. So off to the vet we go.)

And sometimes, I just lounge around and be lazy. :)
